Basketball Recap: Hillside Takes a Loss

Hillside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the McNair Academic Cougars. The Comets lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-13 score last time.

Hillside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for McNair Academic, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Hillside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ferris at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ferris' defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Hillside's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for McNair Academic, they will head out to square off against St. Dominic Academy on January 4, 2025.
