Baseball Recap: Charlotte's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blessed Trinity, Charlotte was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Redan Raiders by a score of 8-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Fightin' Tarpons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Charlotte got a great performance from Race McDaniel as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. McDaniel has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlotte let Dylan Klossner and Brody Brantley run wild. Klossner scored two runs while going 4-for-6, while Brantley got on base in all six of his plate appearances with one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Klossner a new career-high in doubles (two). Frank Planer was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-5.

Charlotte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Redan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Charlotte has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against North Port on the 4th. As for Redan, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-5 victory against Columbia on the 4th.
