Softball Recap: Hendersonville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Hendersonville waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Centennial Cougars. For the Commandos, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Autumn Clayton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Peyton Kelley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Hendersonville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Hendersonville's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Hendersonville is on the road again on Saturday to play Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 10:30 a.m. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Commandos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Centennial, they will face off against Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
