Baseball Recap: Farmington Phoenix vs. Cyprus Pirates
Farmington had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cyprus Pirates on Monday.
Gage Farr and Kaden Stock stepped up to the plate in a big way. Farr scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Stock went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most hits Farr has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Leavitt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Even though they lost, Farmington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cyprus only posted a batting average of .348.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farmington will head out to face off against Pleasant Grove at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cyprus, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on Park City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
