Volleyball Recap: Wiregrass Starts Season with Victory at Home

Wiregrass took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Guardian Christian Athletics Angels with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wiregrass was: they took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-4, 25-2.

Avery Wilson paced Wiregrass' offense, picking up three kills. Wilson got some help from Ellie Alford and her six assists. Alford was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 29 aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Guardian Christian Athletics and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Wiregrass will head out on the road to square off against Marianna at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Guardian Christian Athletics will be paying especially close attention to the Kings' match: after the Kings face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Guardian Christian Athletics again at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th.
