Softball Recap: Doyline Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mansfield last Tuesday, Doyline came back down to earth. The Doyline Panthers lost 16-1 to the Castor Tigers on Monday. The Panthers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Doyline's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Castor, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Doyline will take on Gibsland-Coleman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Castor, they will face off against Quitman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Quitman's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Castor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
