Baseball Recap: Rosamond Has No Trouble Against Frazier Mountain

After only two runs in their last game, Rosamond made sure to put some runs up on the board against Frazier Mountain on Friday. Rosamond put the hurt on Frazier Mountain with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Roadrunners' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Shawn Webb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Rosamond is undefeated when Webb posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Diego Perez and Ayden Katuszonek did most of the damage at the plate: Perez went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Katuszonek went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Katuszonek a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Roberto Najera, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Rosamond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frazier Mountain only posted a batting average of .143.

Rosamond's record now sits at 4-9. As for Frazier Mountain, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosamond will take on Bishop Union at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Union's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Rosamond's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Frazier Mountain, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Frazier Mountain Falcons duke it out with California City Ravens at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. California City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Frazier Mountain surely won't give up without a fight.
