On Friday, everything went Bucksport's way against Lee Academy as Bucksport made off with a 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Mount Desert Island faced Ellsworth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Mount Desert Island fell just short of Ellsworth by a score of 3-2. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Mount Desert Island actually scored more points across those five sets (101-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 19-25, 25-22, 12-25, 15-13.
