Softball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

If Plainview was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Cherokee County last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Madison County Tigers by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Plainview moved to 19-6-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Madison County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Looking ahead, Plainview will welcome North Jackson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lawrence County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
