Football Recap: Ludlowe Falls Short of Darien in the Playoffs

Ludlowe and Darien squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Ludlowe had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Darien Blue Wave and fell 49-19. The Falcons have struggled against the Blue Wave recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Although Ludlowe took the loss, they still got scores from Ryan Tompkins and Liam Bond.

It was another big night for Ben Rolapp, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns for Darien. That's the most rushing yards Rolapp has posted since back in September.

Ludlowe's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Darien, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Ludlowe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Darien has also already played their next game, a 35-21 win against Notre Dame on the 8th.
