Softball Game Preview: Wooster Generals vs. Lexington Minutemen

For the second straight game, Wooster will face off against Lexington. The Generals will host the Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Wooster: they have been struggling with ten straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Lexington has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wooster's offense. They lost 10-0 to Lexington on Tuesday.

For Lexington's part, Makaree Chapman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Chapman has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Kylie Thornton was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Quinn Patrick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Lexington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Wooster, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
