Volleyball Recap: Riley County Takes a Loss

Riley County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson West Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Riley County may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 17 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17.

Audrey Holle paced Riley County's offense, picking up ten kills. Holle got some help from Ada Bishop and her nine assists. Mina Spitler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Riley County's loss dropped their record down to 22-17. As for Jefferson West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.

Riley County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Bishop Ward on the 20th. As for Jefferson West, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Holton on the 14th.
