Basketball Game Preview: Dodson Coyotes vs. Lustre Christian Lions

Having just played yesterday, the Dodson Coyotes will get right back to it and host the Lustre Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Dodson is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Harlem: they outscored them in every quarter. Everything went Dodson's way against Harlem on Thursday as Dodson made off with a 74-53 victory. With that win, the Coyotes brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

Dodson's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Junior Stiffarm, who posted 27 points, and Donovan Posey, who had 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stiffarm has scored at least a third of Dodson's points. Lance KillEagle was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Lustre Christian put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 69-12 victory over Bainville. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 33 points or more this season.

Lustre Christian pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points per game. As for Dodson, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Dodson was dealt a bruising 79-33 defeat at the hands of Lustre Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Dodson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
