Softball Game Preview: Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats vs. Illini Bluffs Tigers

Cuba/Spoon River Valley is 0-7 against Illini Bluffs since May of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Wildcats will face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cuba/Spoon River Valley's offense. They came up short against Canton on Wednesday, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Illini Bluffs posted their closest win since April 8th on Wednesday. They skirted past Morton 3-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Potters recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Illini Bluffs, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley suffered a grim 13-6 defeat to Illini Bluffs when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
