Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt lost against Washburn back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Roosevelt Teddies had to suffer through a 82-45 loss at the hands of the Washburn Millers. The matchup marked the Teddies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt still got an impressive performance from Obie E Esparza, who went 6 of 10 en route to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Alexander, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Roosevelt now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Washburn, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.

Roosevelt will square off against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Washburn, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Eden Prairie at 6:30 p.m.
