Rio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fall River Pirates. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Vikings' highest-scoring contest to date.

Rio saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Becker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double was Becker's first of the season. Tyler Munz was another, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Rio's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fall River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Rio by a score of 10-6 on Friday.
