Recap: King Lions vs. Jesuit Tigers
The King Lions suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 75-50 walloping at the hands of Jesuit. While losing is never fun, King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Jesuit is ranked 66th).
King's loss came despite strong showings from Julien Barnett and Jabriel Hakim. Barnett dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Hakim scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Andreas Jackson, who scored two points along with ten rebounds.
King has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Jesuit, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.
King won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chamberlain at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. Chamberlain is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Jesuit, they will head out on the road to face off against Tampa Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
