Recap: Mentor Cardinals vs. Strongsville Mustangs
The Mentor Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Strongsville with points to spare, taking the game 114-100. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Matthew Biddell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 46 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Ioppolo, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds.
Mentor's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.9 points per game. As for Strongsville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Mentor will head out on the road to take on Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Strongsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shaker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shaker Heights is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
