Basketball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Orrick Bearcats and fell 80-22. The Wildcats lost against the Bearcats in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 63-50 score last time.

Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Orrick, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Southwest has already played their next game, a 71-54 defeat against Hardin-Central on the 9th. As for Orrick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 80-22 victory against Breckenridge on the 4th.
