Softball Recap: Damascus Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Damascus waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Southern Bulldogs 15-2. Considering the Hornets have won 12 contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ana DiGiandomenico was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Aislinn Sell looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Damascus got a massive performance out of Kailyn Sheahin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Brooke Sell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Damascus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .406 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Damascus pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Southern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Damascus nor Southern have any future games scheduled.
