Baseball Game Preview: Lake Park Lancers vs. Glenbard North Panthers

For the second straight game, Lake Park will face off against Glenbard North. The Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lake Park has four straight wins, Glenbard North has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Saturday, Lake Park narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Glenbard North 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lancers have posted against the Panthers since May 4, 2023.

Anrhony Durava tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lake Park is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Gavin O'Neil was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Robert Munaco was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lake Park pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Glenbard North, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
