Baseball Recap: Brawley Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Brawley's tournament run continued when they took on Cathedral on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Phantoms.

Sergio Garcia was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Brawley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jon Angel Aguirre, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Brawley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cathedral, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
