Basketball Game Preview: Conrad Science Red Wolves vs. Archmere Academy Auks

Conrad Science hasn't had much luck against Archmere Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Conrad Science Red Wolves will square off against the Archmere Academy Auks at 6:15 p.m. Conrad Science knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Archmere Academy likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Conrad Science didn't have too much trouble with DuPont as they won 68-52. Given the Red Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Tigers are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Archmere Academy entered their matchup against Wilmington Friends on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Archmere Academy fell just short of Wilmington Friends by a score of 41-38. The game marked the Auks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Conrad Science's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Archmere Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4.

Conrad Science didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Archmere Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Conrad Science since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
