Soccer Game Preview: New Hope-Solebury vs. Norristown

The New Hope-Solebury Lions will take on the Norristown Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. New Hope-Solebury's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

New Hope-Solebury came up short against Pennsbury on Monday, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, New Hope-Solebury can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Pennsbury are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Norristown took on Pottsgrove on Thursday. The Eagles lost 4-0 to the Falcons. Norristown haven't had much luck with Pottsgrove recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Norristown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for New Hope-Solebury, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went New Hope-Solebury's way against Norristown in their previous meeting back in August of 2018, as New Hope-Solebury made off with a 10-2 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
