Basketball Recap: Quantico Comes Up Short

After flying high against King Abdullah Academy last Tuesday, Quantico came back down to earth. The Quantico Warriors were outmatched by the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles and fell 55-6. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Fredericksburg Christian found their leader in freshman Riley Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 steals. Thomas has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amri Donado, who went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points.

Quantico's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Fredericksburg Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Quantico will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Randolph-Macon Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Fredericksburg Christian and Riverbend will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
