Brevard gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cherokee Braves. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brevard will challenge Asheville Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cherokee, they are taking a road trip to square off against Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Braves their first taste of in-conference action this season.
