Basketball Recap: Valley Center Takes a Loss

Valley Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 87-60 loss at the hands of the Ramona Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 94-66 back in January.

Despite the loss, Valley Center still got an impressive performance from Lincoln Zetmeir, who posted 34 points. That was a full 56.7% of Valley Center's points, marking the 24th time in a row Zetmeir has scored more than a third of the team's points. Dustin Hotchkiss was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

It was another big night for Colin Dillon, who went 11-for-20 to rack up 29 points and six boards for Ramona. Those 29 points gave Dillon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Penner, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Ramona, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Valley Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-43 win against Escondido on the 7th. As for Ramona, they have also already played their next game, a 71-45 victory against Fallbrook on the 7th.
