Basketball Recap: St. Mary Takes a Loss

St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montgomery Tigers. St. Mary was not able to make up for their loss to Montgomery from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

St. Mary will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glenbrook at 5:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Montgomery, they will square off against Logansport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Logansport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Montgomery likes a good challenge.
