There's no place like home for SouthLake Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors 10-8. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Warriors on April 8th, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Hayden Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, SouthLake Christian Academy got a big performance out of Ava Sherard, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Madeline Pressley, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

SouthLake Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they moved to 5-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, SouthLake Christian Academy and Metrolina Christian Academy will both be playing Greater Cabarrus S the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Stallions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
