Basketball Recap: Frontier Academy Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Frontier Academy Wolverines lost to the Fort Morgan Mustangs on the road by a 51-32 margin. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Frontier Academy lost, don't look at Emily Gesick. Despite the final result, she posted 15 points and three steals. Gesick has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played.

Fort Morgan found their leader in sophomore Lauryn Zwetzig, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Zwetzig. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Taylor, who put up four points along with eight boards and six blocks.

Frontier Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Fort Morgan, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Frontier Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-32 defeat against Brush on the 10th. As for Fort Morgan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-23 victory against Thornton on the 10th.
