Basketball Game Preview: Elkins Tigers vs. Lewis County Minutemen

The Elkins Tigers will face off against the Lewis County Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Elkins is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. The matchup between them and Fairmont Senior didn't end well, with Elkins falling 70-55.

Meanwhile, Lewis County ended up a good deal behind Greenbrier East on Saturday and lost 84-65.

Lewis County now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Elkins, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Elkins came up short against Lewis County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 53-44. Can Elkins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
