Calais hadn't done well against Machias recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 4-1 win over the Bulldogs. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2025.

Ronnie Spearin was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

The win made it two in a row for Calais and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Machias, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calais will square off against Mattanawcook at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Machias, they will face off against Jonesport-Beals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
