Basketball Recap: Ash Fork Takes a Loss

Ash Fork was the 53-52 winner over Williams when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Ash Fork Spartans came up short against the Williams Vikings on Thursday, falling 63-43. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

When it comes to explaining why Ash Fork lost, don't look at Jeffrey Trovillion. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Purser, who put up seven points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ash Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Ash Fork's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Williams, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
