Basketball Game Preview: King George Foxes vs. Courtland Cougars

The King George Foxes and the Courtland Cougars will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Courtland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on King George, who comes in off a win.

King George is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 54-42 win over Caroline on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Foxes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Courtland's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 76-64 to Culpeper County.

King George will need focus on slowing down Airyana Maze, one of several Courtland players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Maze is becoming a predictor of Courtland's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 8-4 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jayla Talley, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Courtland's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for King George, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.
