Baseball Recap: Florida State University High School Falls to Maclay in First Game of Season

Florida State University High School unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Maclay Marauders by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Seminoles just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row dating back to last season.

Florida State University High School got a good showing from Sam Clark, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Clark also racked up zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Zach Tubbs and Tanner Hall did some serious damage despite the final result: Tubbs scored a run and stole one base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Hall scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Hall also racked up two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Florida State University High School has already played their next match (against St. John Paul II), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Maclay will face off against Altha at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
