Softball Recap: Wilson Central Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

After only one run in their last game, Wilson Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Franklin on Friday. The Wildcats never let the Admirals get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Lannom was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Mallory Lee was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wilson Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wilson Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16-1.

Wilson Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Rockvale on the 11th. As for Franklin, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-1 loss against Zion Christian Academy on the 11th.
