Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yazoo County). They enjoyed a cozy 70-51 win over the Velma Jackson Falcons on Thursday. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

It was another big night for Anthony Hudson, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 19 points and five boards. Amari Southern was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.

Yazoo County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Velma Jackson still got an impressive performance from Trevon Willis, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Da'Quavion Black, who had eight points.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Velma Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Yazoo County will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Velma Jackson, they will head out to challenge Leake County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
