Baseball Recap: Langtree Charter Lions vs. SouthLake Christian Academy
Langtree Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 13-9 to SouthLake Christian Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Langtree Charter of the 12-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2020.
Austin Haessly and Brandon MacDonald stepped up to the plate in a big way. Haessly scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while MacDonald scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Luca Wraight, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI and a double.
On SouthLake Christian Academy's side, Nick Coggins was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Langtree Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-10.
Langtree Charter will be playing at home against Lincoln Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Charter will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Langtree Charter surely won't give up without a fight. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Gaston Day at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. SouthLake Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
