Softball Recap: Destrehan Wildcats vs. Slidell Tigers
Destrehan entered their tilt with Slidell with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Slidell Tigers on Monday. That's more bragging rights for Destrehan, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Jolie Lozano spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Destrehan let Makayla Thomas and Ava Burkett loose on the outfield. Thomas scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Burkett scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
On Slidell's side, Bree McCleary was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win.
