Baseball Game Preview: Coweta Tigers vs. Oktaha Tigers

Coweta will head out on the road to challenge Oktaha at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coweta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Coweta duked it out with Collinsville on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 10-2 to the Cardinals. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coweta got a good showing from Braxton Barnes, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Barnes has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jackson Plyler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Floyd, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Oktaha came out on top against Stroud on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. Oktaha skirted past Stroud 8-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oktaha.

Oktaha's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Coweta, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.

Coweta couldn't quite finish off Oktaha in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 and fell 5-3. Can Coweta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
