Baseball Game Preview: Washington Jaguars vs. Easton Warriors

The Washington Jaguars will challenge the Easton Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Washington had taken Pocomoke down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. Washington fell just short of Pocomoke by a score of 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly two runs.

Dawson Daniels put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Daniels wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Miles, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Easton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Parkside 9-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Easton got a big performance out of Dylan Cassell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Mooney, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Easton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
