Football Recap: Asheville Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Asheville Christian Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They were outmatched by the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders and fell 55-14. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Crusaders are ranked 155th).

As for Harrells Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Harrells Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Davis led the charge by rushing for 58 yards and one touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrod Miller, who rushed for 50 yards and one TD.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Asheville Christian Academy and Greenville H will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on the 24th against Ravenscroft at 7:00 p.m.
