Volleyball Recap: Springfield Starts Season with Victory Against Alliance

Springfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Alliance Aviators as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Spartans were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Aviators, so the Spartans were just returning the favor.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Springfield took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-11.

This is the second loss in a row for Alliance and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Springfield has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Cloverleaf on the 21st. As for Alliance, they will head out to face off against Ellet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
