Baseball Recap: Calhan Find Success

While Calhan's victory against Kiowa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over the Indians on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Toby Monger and Brock Burnside did most of the damage at the plate: Monger went 2-for-5 with five RBI, while Burnside scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Burnside a new career-high. Liam Metzger also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Calhan's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-2. As for Kiowa, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Calhan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-0 loss against Byers on the 27th. As for Kiowa, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-3 defeat against Rocky Ford on the 2nd.
