Basketball Recap: Makayla Triplett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fishers over Center Grove

Fishers lost against Center Grove back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.

Fishers' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Triplett, who posted seven points and six boards. Natalie Thomas was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 13 points and five rebounds.

Leading Center Grove to victory were Gracyn Gilliard and Haley Wagoner. Gilliard went 5-for-10 en route to 22 points and three steals, while Wagoner dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Gilliard's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Sprong, who scored six points.

Fishers' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Center Grove, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Fishers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-19 win against Anderson on the 12th. As for Center Grove, they have also already played their next game, a 49-42 victory against Indian Creek on the 18th.
