            Baseball Preview: Murray County Indians vs. Union County Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The Murray County Indians will face off against the Union County Panthers at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Murray County didn't have quite enough to beat Sonoraville and fell  3-1. The Indians have struggled against the Phoenix recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Union County). They never let Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe get on the board and left with  a   15-0  victory  on Tuesday. With that  win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.4  runs per game.
 Union County got a  massive  performance out of  Maddox Patton, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Patton has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is 6-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Bentley Rich, who  went 1-for-2 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Union County is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Murray County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
