Leading by 32 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop
Florence-Carlton (Florence, Mont.) from scoring, as it added nine points in the final quarter on the way to a 41-0 victory over Lincoln County (Eureka, Mont.) on Saturday.
The Falcons were up 6-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Aaron Ward touchdown run in the first quarter.
Florence-Carlton expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. FC scored five times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Ward.
A 26-point third quarter helped the Florence school secure the big victory. The Falcons scored on a Ward touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Brady Heffner, a touchdown pass by Ward to
Tanner Cobbs and a Cobbs touchdown run in the quarter.
Florence-Carlton's most effective player was Ward. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.
FC also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 46-20.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lincoln County, which notched a 36-14 victory over Troy in its previous outing.
Florence-Carlton (5-0) will play a Western 6B game against Powell County next week, while Lincoln County (1-3) will take on Plains in a Western 7B game.
