Volleyball Recap: Loyola Academy Comes Up Short

Loyola Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montini Catholic Broncos. The Ramblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Loyola Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Loyola Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-16. As for Montini Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.

Loyola Academy will challenge Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montini Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
