Volleyball Recap: Trivium Prep Starts Season with Win Against Horizon Honors + How To Watch

Trivium Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Horizon Honors Eagles 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Crimson Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-21.

Petra Zepeda paced Trivium Prep's offense, picking up 15 kills. Zepeda got some help from Aleena Torres and her 25 assists. Meili Maurice controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Horizon Honors' loss came despite strong showings from Zoi Gordon and Harper Vanderwall. Gordon had nine digs and one assist, while Vanderwall had 14 assists and nine digs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trivium Prep will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Chandler Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon Honors, they will host Camp Verde at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
