Volleyball Recap: St. John Eagles vs. Houma Christian Warriors

St. John was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Houma Christian Warriors. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While St. John ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22.

Houma Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Folse out in front who had 12 digs and six aces. Folse is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Addison Billiot was another key player, getting 15 digs.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Houma Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, St. John will be playing in front of their home fans against Livonia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houma Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Episcopal of Acadiana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
